David M. Kost Biography

David M. Kost is vice president, Investor Relations and is responsible for EDS' contact with current and prospective shareholders and the investment community on a worldwide basis. Kost joined EDS in 1983.
Before his recent appointment, he was the CFO of EDS' business in the United States. In addition to being a member of the U.S. RLT leadership team, he provided strategic financial planning to support revenue growth and cost efficiency. During this time frame, he led several key initiatives targeted at improving contract performance and structuring new deals to ensure financial metrics could be achieved.
Prior to that role, Kost held positions of increasing financial responsibility, including CFO of Asia Pacific where he was based in Hong Kong and Sydney, finance director for Northern Europe based in Brussels, and strategic business unit (SBU) controller for Large Financial Institutions. Before that, he was manager of Domestic Treasury Operations; the SBU controller for Solution Centers on the GM account, manager of accounts payable and manager of cash management and investments, where he started his career with EDS.
Before joining EDS, Kost spent five years in international banking with Comerica Bank and JPMorgan Chase, progressing from the one-year management training program to International Operations officer. During this tenure, he also managed the conversion to a new multicurrency accounting system for non-U.S. banking activities.
Kost previously served on the asset-liability committee and supervisory committee for the EDS Employees Federal Credit Union, was a member of the National Corporate Cash Management Association and was a member of the Economist's Regional Managers Club in Hong Kong. He was a director for Japan Systems between 1998–2001, a publicly listed JASDAQ company that was 53 percent owned by EDS.
He graduated in 1977 from Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelors of arts degree in marketing and economics. Additionally, he graduated in 1983 from the University of Dallas, where he earned his MBA in finance. He also has completed several accounting, financial and continuing education courses at Harvard, Columbia and Southern Methodist University.
Dave Kost enjoys tennis, snow skiing, most outdoor activities, traveling and is an avid sports fan.
