Kevin B. Torgerson is senior vice president, EDS Service Delivery Operations. In this role, he is responsible for driving profitable growth, competitiveness and quality through end-to-end product development and delivery across EDS' Infrastructure, Network, and Security services lines, Global Service Desk Management, and Business Process Outsourcing Delivery.
To ensure alignment and integration of these capabilities globally, Torgerson also oversees the Business Workforce and Capacity Management, Enterprise Service Management, Enterprise Productivity, and Global Supply Chain Management organizations.
Torgerson, promoted to vice president and general manager of Service Delivery Operations in August 2007, brings two decades of international and delivery experience to this assignment. Since joining EDS in 1988 as a systems engineer, he has a consistent, impressive track record driving EDS' performance and growth within some of its largest accounts. As account executive for the UK's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Torgerson successfully drove global delivery transformation and provided strategic leadership. He also was instrumental in helping the EDS General Motors (GM) team win a majority share of its landmark multibillion-dollar systems integration services contract. In 2006, he was recognized with the Chairman's Award for his outstanding contributions to the GM recompete and account transformation program.
In 2000, Torgerson was named client executive for GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East Operations and had responsibility for client support in 14 countries.He earned his first international assignment in 1996 as regional manager for GM Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay operations.
After leading Lean Manufacturing implementations at several GM automotive facilities, Torgerson became supervisor at a major assembly plant in 1993. He quickly advanced to account manager and directed several key quality, productivity and transformation programs.
