EDS Technology Grants: Guidelines and Eligibility

2008 EDS Technology Grant Program

The 2008 EDS Technology Grant Program is now closed. The 2009 program will be available as of November 1, 2008.

Grants must be used to pay for technology products, training and services not provided to the teacher by the school or the school district. Examples include, but not limited to, computer software and hardware, digital cameras, PC Cams, CD-ROM libraries, scanners and video boards; modems, Internet access, wiring and on-line time to networks and databases.

Eligible Applicants

  • Can only apply to one EDS grant sponsor
  • Can only submit one proposal
  • Must be a current full-time librarian or teacher of children ages 6 through 18
  • Must teach at a public, private or charter school (must be a nonprofit organization)
  • Must teach at a school located within 50 miles of an EDS office sponsoring a grant. EDS sponsors change each year. It is important that you contact a current EDS grant sponsor before submitting a grant proposal.
  • Can apply individually or in teams of two
  • Must teach in a traditional classroom setting, where traditional is defined as instruction provided in a physical classroom with a teacher and students face to face

Ineligible Applicants

  • Home school or co-op home school providers where parent is the primary teacher
  • Virtual/home-bases schools
  • After school or weekend programs managed by non-profit organizations, churches and other groups
  • Junior colleges, state or private universities
