Department of National Defence Canada
In order to better support and manage its global military and peacekeeping operations, the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) wanted to replace its aging electronic messaging system.
EDS delivered a 35,000-seat messaging system and 120 servers at sites in Canada, the United States and Germany in just a few months. EDS implemented the solution mostly outside of normal business hours to prevent disruption to ongoing operations. To enhance security, EDS interfaced the system with the department's public key infrastructure environment.
DEMS II was the single-largest electronic messaging migration in Canada and it was delivered securely and seamlessly. The user-friendly system enables DND to better manage and direct the Canadian forces in national defence and emergency matters.
