Modernized IT Brings National Housing Agency Into The 21st Century
Determined to enhance its standing on the President’s Management Agenda and improve service to citizens, this federal civilian agency looked to EDS to deliver an end-to-end solution to help the agency not only achieve its goal, but surpass it.
EDS consolidated the agency’s various homegrown help desk operations into a single, enterprisewide help desk. Next, it migrated nearly 200 business applications running on 400 servers to an EDS data center in just six weeks. The team replaced the legacy mainframe infrastructure and is now working to create a streamlined, virtual environment. EDS also implemented a robust disaster recovery solution. Though the modernization effort continues, the agency has already earned the coveted Green rating on the President’s Management Agenda and a 93 percent user satisfaction rating.
