French Departmental Firefighting and Aid Departments Case Study
Facing a population boom, the county of Vendée on the French Atlantic coast realized that in order to expand its emergency reach and responsiveness it needed to modernize its manual call management system. So EDS deployed ARTEMIS©, its state-of-the-art operational emergency management system that enables coordinated intervention efforts among multiple operations centers.
ARTEMIS© manages nearly 200,000 calls annually, enabling the agency's Call Processing Center (CTA) to handle up to 20 calls simultaneously and alert 50 emergency centers in just one minute. What's more, the new system processes alerts 50 percent faster, while follow-ups that used to take 20 minutes to complete now take no more than two minutes.
With the automated system now managing calls and responses, Vendée French Departmental Firefighting and Aid's administrative costs have been cut in half.
