Icelandair
Icelandair asked EDS to upgrade its legacy-based flight planning system to a more efficient, user friendly and integrated solution. Icelandair wanted to reduce costs, standardize flight planning processes and increase enterprise-wide visibility. Teams of Icelandair pilots and EDS flight-planning specialists installed the new system, defined a new Operation Flight Program and fine-tuned the new system. Icelandair achieved an almost risk-free production cut-over that occurred on-time and within budget. Icelandair dispatchers, cockpit crew, and operations planning users now enjoy a seamlessly integrated and automated flight-planning environment accessed either locally or via the internet. In addition, the new system has greatly reduced the potential for errors, increased the quality of information delivered, and enabled staff to manage by exception.
