Armed Forces Personnel Administration Agency (AFPAA)
The UK Armed Forces Personnel Administration Agency (AFPAA) wanted to reduce costs, modernise outdated IT systems and improve personnel services to military Service members, retirees and dependents.
Gates Corporation
Exchanging tens of thousands of documents each month with customers and trading partners meant Gates Corporation needed fast, easy electronic data interchange (EDI) connections to modernize processes, handle a variety of standards and reduce expenses. EDS Business Exchange Services proved just the ticket.
Government Department
When a government department wanted to launch a massive, multiyear transformation program, EDS helped realign a complex IT architecture into a best-in-class modernized service tower-based infrastructure – improving productivity, enhancing performance and generating substantial savings.
Government Employment Service
This Government Employment Service helps people find jobs and employers fill openings. For years job vacancies were displayed on printed cards posted on bulletin boards, limiting the number of jobs that could be displayed, and requiring time and effort to keep boards current. Job seekers also found the process cumbersome and limiting. EDS implemented a chain of networked kiosks that provide information across the country by tapping into a newly created national job board database.
Her Majesty's Courts Service
When the UK Department for Constitutional Affairs wanted to improve communications and enhance service, it developed the modernized XHIBIT system thanks in part to EDS. Now, the daily business of Crown Courts is improved with hearing information provided to those who need it within minutes.
Her Majesty's Prison Service (Offender Assessment System)
To enable information sharing across the national prison system of England and Wales, EDS supplied Her Majesty's Prison Service (HMPS) with a centralised, streamlined IT infrastructure.
Her Majesty's Prison Services (Finance System)
Her Majesty's Prison Service (HMPS) looked to EDS to enhance organisationwide visibility and centralise finance, procurement and human resources across all of its 127 prisons in England and Wales.
Interconnector (UK) Limited
Interconnector’s planned 146-mile underwater natural gas pipeline would not be able to function efficiently without a system to manage gas flow.
Post Office Ltd.
When the United Kingdom decided to enact policy that would ensure financial inclusion to the entire population, Post Office Ltd. worked with the government to deliver the policy with EDS' support. Together, they launched the innovative card account at Post Office® service employing proven electronic transfer and smart-card technologies.
Transport for London
When London decided to replace life-expired ticketing equipment on its bus and Underground network with an integrated ticketing and revenue system, it chose the TranSys consortium, whose principal partners are EDS and Cubic Transportation Systems, to deliver this ambitious plan.
Xerox (Business Value Case Study)
When Xerox EMEA set out to cut costs and increase the resources available to support its legacy environment, it looked to IT partner EDS. EDS relied on onshore and offshore resources to help Xerox centralize support for 96 business-critical applications and transition to a new eSAP-based business application.
Xerox (EDS' Best Shore®)
The European subsidiary of Xerox wanted to reduce costs and reinvest the savings in new applications. EDS consolidated the company’s onshore and offshore resources using EDS’ Best Shore approach, providing a robust support structure for critical legacy applications and optimizing the IT environment for a new SAP solution.
