Situated on the picturesque French Atlantic coast, Vendée is home to 560,000 residents, but that population doubles every summer as tourist flock to the area to enjoy beaches, nature and cultural activities. Meeting the demands of sudden growth was a challenge to the country's French Departmental Firefighting and Aid Departments. They needed an innovative solution to keep up with emergency responses.

EDS deployed its state-of-the-art operational management system, ARTEMISTM to the Vendée French Departmental Firefighting and Aid Departments, delivering enhanced visibility and collaboration, along with speed and a cost savings of 10 percent that was reinvested into critical operations.

The system brings together all the pieces needed to collaborate and innovate – mobile computing, digital mapping and personnel management – to help fire-fighters respond to emergencies rapidly, intelligently and with greater flexibility.

EDS Artemis® solution proposes the most efficient way to handle the emergency in three to four seconds via an automated and user-friendly system. It provides the data, tools and algorithms to manage incidents, units and departments quickly. Dispatchers can mange twice as many incidents in half the processing time.
