Sky Radio Talks Data Security With EDS’ Ron Rittenmeyer
16 Mar 2007
In a recent interview with EDS' President and COO Ron Rittenmeyer, Sky Radio's Dennis Michael asked the question all companies should be thinking about – what kinds of information needs to be protected in today's environment, and what's the potential for damage and loss if a company's data security is not up to the task?
“All internal confidential information needs to be protected with special attention paid to personal information about a company's employees and customers,” says Rittenmeyer. “In fact, protecting personal information is now mandated by many country's privacy laws and in the US by at least 35 states. But personal information is by no means the only type of confidential information that needs to be protected. Examples include things like financial information that is now covered by Sarbanes Oxley, as well as information about a company's strategy and operational plans, mergers, acquisitions and intellectual property.”
