08 Oct 2007
Nearly one-third (30%) of supermarket shoppers want to access information via a barcode reader that sits on their trolley and provides specific product information on nutrition, the environment and ethical sourcing. This is one of the findings of a significant new research study carried out by international food and grocery expert IGD, on behalf of EDS, the global technology services company. The project was undertaken to understand how supermarket shoppers interact with information, and how they wanted to access this data.
Shopping Choices: Attraction or Distraction? reveals that today’s shoppers are demanding more information than ever before:
- 95% of people want nutritional information
- 93% want ethical information
- 92% look for environmental information
