Media Advisory: EDS Statement
Global Disruption of Internet Services
PLANO, Texas – EDS, the global provider of IT and communications systems in 65 countries, today reported that the company has had no known interruptions of service to any of its clients around the world as a result of wide-spread disruption of Internet services caused by recent damage to two major international cable systems cut in the Mediterranean Sea.
EDS secures the IT systems and services to the company’s global client base through its proprietary Global Services Network, the common physical platform for connecting all EDS clients to more than 500 EDS locations globally. EDS utilizes its proprietary Global Services Network as the foundation for delivery of all EDS services to clients worldwide and delivers a comprehensive set of network services covering all areas of enterprise network outsourcing. This offers clients a complete communications solution without requiring new physical infrastructure to the service location. EDS’ Global Services Network does not rely on the public Internet for transmission of data or client information to countries around the globe.
