- Inbound Document Processing:
- Mailroom Management – The process where a facility receives the physical delivery of documents relevant to a business process, usually performed in a mailroom.
- Document Imaging and Scanning – The process where physical documents are scanned and the digitized image is captured for use in a business process.
- Data Capture – The process of extracting required information from a paper document, digital image, or voice interaction and keying the specific information into a process application or system.

- Archive and Retrieval – The process around storing and presenting captured images and data for use within a business process such as mortgage applications, bill presentment, insurance claims processing and customer contact center.
