Does "Real ID" enhance security across state governments?

Following the events of September 11, 2001, reports surfaced that driver’s licenses were fraudulently obtained by the terrorists carrying out the attacks, and public concern mounted over the government’s ability to accurately and safely identify temporary and permanent US residents. Consequently, President Bush signed the Real ID Act into law on May 11, 2005.

Farewell To The Creator Of The First 3GL

IBM’s John W. Backus was the man who brought us the first third generation computer language (3GL) and co-developed Backus-Naur form (BNF). This news story marks his passing and reminds us that computer technology's greatest breakthroughs are often found in the casual collaborative environments that spontaneously appear around great ideas.
